It depends on the quality and length of the songs. I can get a 1GB MP3player to hold proximately 500 of my songs.

does this sync easily with drag and drop to WMP or does it need software download like many do?

I don't have alot of experience with WMP but the MP3 player is Plug'n'Play. It works like a removable drive.

i used to have one of these it is very user friendly and easy to use you can drag and drop files in and they show up i got to were i would put a few songs on it and then put term papers on it lol and about how many songs it holds 500 is a ton i have a 2 gig right now and i have just a little over 500 on it and i only have like 500 mb left so i mean like he said it all depends ont he quality and length most of my songs are highest quality i could find i am a sound nerd
