Description

The listing, Organic ✽ CANADIAN COLUMBINE ✽ 15 Seeds ✽ Native Hummingbird Plant has ended.

Be ready for the HUMMINGBIRDS! Here is a chance to grow your own columbine VERY EASY! These are seeds from my magnificant, tall Canadian Columbine plant. These are a wonderful back-of-the-border garden perennials for sun or part shade. They are large and the 1st plant in my spring garden to welcome the migrating hummingbirds. The flowers have beautiful, medium spurs of red, with yellow sepals. They nod down-ward above sturdy, lacey foliage. Columbine grows in almost any soil. They are reliable bloomers, and naturalize well by self-seeding. Dead-head for prolonged blooming. Very little care is needed for these tall beauties and they are very hardy. I believe the "strong shall survive" in my garden. You will appreciate my motto!

garden. They will be sent First Class mail. I am happy to say that my seeds tested 99-100% germination within 2 weeks at a temp of 65°F in the spring of 2012. Excellent for beginners!

Propagation Method: From seed, sow seeds indoors 6 weeks before last spring frost. Sow 3-5 seeds per pot. NOTE* Do NOT cover these with soil, as they need sunlight or artificial light to germinate. About 10 days before the last spring frost, begin hardening the plants to the outdoors. Transplant your plants to a sunny location.
