Description

The listing, Tiny Bear with Hidden compartment has ended.

This is an adorable bear figurine with a removable head. He is wearing a top hat and bow and holding a bouquet of flowers. I am unsure if he's of a ceramic or polyresin material. His head removes and he has a dowel that is just short of an inch deep.
In the back there is a small chip at the end of the pink ribbon near his rear but there are no other chips or cracks. Some places have spots where the paint has rubbed off it looks like, but nothing major or in large amounts.
I took took the photos using natural light as well as indoor light to give you a good idea of how he looks.
This is a great piece weather its because you have a love of bears, wish to add to your bear collection, or just like the fact that he has this hidden compartment as I did.
Let me give you my history of the bear, a few years ago I purchased him with a girl counterpart at a thrift store. I have a small bear collection because it seems to be the thing people give to me :) but, that is not what piqued my interest to buy it, it was the fact that they seemed to have a secret compartment and that intrigued me, the fact that they blended with my bear collection was just an added bonus ;)
Now, the lady at the thrift store told me that she knew of items like these being used as perfume bottles in the early 1900's. She stated that that was just a fun tidbit of info but could not say that about the bears I was purchasing as these were bought from a storage locker that had a mixture of items and she knew nothing about them herself.
I no longer have the girl bear, her head went missing during my last move and I did not keep it after that.

Thank you for looking :)
If you have any questions I will try to answer them promptly for you.

My husband's philosophy was that he thought the bear looked like it would have been used to hide liquor because the pink ribbon looks like a cup handle, lol
But, that would have been an awfully small shot ;) plus he doesn't look old enough to have been around during prohibition :P
