Description

The listing, Old Celluloid Cupie Kewpie Doll Made In Japan All Original! has ended.

This doll is made of very light weight material. I've read up on this a little and found that they are usually made of celluloid plastic so that's what I'm assuming she's made of. She has her original dress on and is barefoot. Needs some dusting and wiping off upon arrival to clean to your standards! Also her face has a small dent on the right side under her chin. Have never tried to squeeze it or fix it. Her face looks to be hand painted and on her back there is a butterfly and its stamped made in Japan! She is 8 inches tall! As always free shipping with all my items! Good luck!

I don't think you can fix the dent on those. It will just get worse. Very cool doll!

they have a tool you can use on dolls to pop out dents--similar to the tool that people use in auto body repair shops to pop out dents in cars--any doll maker could probably advise the winner on how to repair the little dent--great auction--awesome doll !!!!!!!!!!

I don't think it will get worse unless you push on it or something. My aunt collects dolls and said you could pop it out with a small plunger tool. Good luck to the winner! She is very cute!

I'm a Japanese and just watched a documentary about celluloid dolls. I see some significance. Be careful treating it. The makers are still alive and some are still making dolls. Good luck with your auction.

im a doll maker and there is a way to pop the dent out...you have to be very carefull but u use a blow dryer to heat it up.... I wouldn't advise someone that's never done it before because you can get it to hot..also this is not a kewpie doll I collected kewpies and kewpies do not have hair like that...very nice auction its a very collectible doll

i would advise not using any type of plunger tool as it will crack it...it would be best to leave alone unless u know how to heat it up

Thanks for the info! I would not trust myself to even attempt to try to fix her! I'll leave that to the winner!

Cute doll - but like the other person said not an original Kewpie doll. Those are stamped on the back "Kewpie" and I believe they are made by Cameo.
