Yes it is a small world, see there is more that "one gal in kalamazoo" and "YES!" there really is a kalamazoo. LOL. Well it is to bad you can't have a shop you would do great! But at least you have the talent to make these beautiful bracelets and can put the on here. Hopefully I will win one of them, soon! Best of luck to you and keep up the good work!!
I love both of those silly songs! Remember when they would sing that goofy song "There really is a Kalamazoo" on TV and the radio, especially after the tornado of 81!!
It is too bad I can't have a shop! I would love being out of the house again, and feeling useful, although I feel so much more fulfilled since I lost my singing voice due to what is called Dysphonia (I think I told you I am/was a Professional Vocalist) and I was taking voice lessons to retrain my 1st classical soprano voice. So this has taken it's place for now, till things slow down and I can go to see a Speech Pathologist and Therapist! Then I can sing again-AND make bracelets, and I would like to finally be able to volunteer at the local Hospital down the road as I signed on to do this last year but have been too ill to do so!
So I do keep busy now. When I couldn't work as a Nurse anymore, I kinda came unglued!
Well, I will keep posing my bracelets on Listia!! And best of luck to you and I also hope you can win one. I am starting on some Easter ones today-and I will post them very soon. :)
I'm wondering if you have a shop yet in Battle Creek? I live in Kalamazoo and would love to come look at your bracelets if you do. Your work is awesome! To reply to one of your comments to someone else, No I don't think artist to truly see how good they are. My son is a graphic design and he will do the same thing, always thinks it should be better. Guess thats what makes good artist so good!
Wow. It's a small world-again! I just met someone on one of my auctions who was from Battle Creek. I'm from Kalamazoo, also. I moved here 9 years ago, and am still with the same reason LOL
I think you must be right, as once in a while,I may catch a glimpse of real beauty in my creations, but most of the time, I see flaws! Like if I catch a glimpse out of the corner of my eye if it is posted on the left side, and briefly I'll think, wow, that's beautiful-until I realize it's mine. :( I shouldn't be that way, I now, but I am.
I think you're right-it's the striving for perfection that makes artists-I am also a professional vocalist, but that is a long story-good at what they do.
As for having a shop? No, and I won't have due to the fact that I am permanently Disabled-I worked as a Nurse for many years, and loved my job, so it was very hard to accept!!-and they will not let me have over $2,000.00 in assets. But I can auction them off on here, and I will do what many people have suggested and ask for much more than I am, as I have also been told I could sell them for $40.00 to $80.00 in a shop, or from home-which I am not able to do, either.
Thank you very much for asking, though. Maybe someday, I will have a shop, if there is any way of making it happen!!
Wow! You put together nice bracelets. I don't have any extra credits right now or I would get it. You should be asking for more than you are. Have you seen on her that one bead alone goes for more than what you are asking for a complete bracelet? Serious bidders will pay for what it is worth. You should get at least 1,000 credits for each bead and 2k for the chain. This bracelet should start no less than 10K. Maybe 7500 if you want to discount.
I've seen your other bracelets and they are pretty too. At your rate you will go broke before you get started. I am not trying to be mean about it. But you are definitely worth more than what you are asking.
I did fan and watch you so I can come back when I finally do get some credits. Don't be taken advantage of because these types of bracelets are hot right now and you can make more. Remember it costs you to make them. Don't give them away for less. God Bless and I pray that your business will prosper.
Wow, This must be a True Message, as I have heard it spoken numerous times. I have been selling myself short as I just recently started making them-a few months ago now. I think I am established enough now to ask for more, and get what they are truly worth.
If it weren't the truth, I wouldn't have been told this so many times now. And you are NOT being mean in the least. I appreciate total honesty, no matter how blunt!
Thank you for fanning me and for watching my bracelet. I will fan you back. right now I am having a lot of trouble uploading pictures, so I am hoping when I am done doing some more repairs to my faulty computer (It is the program-Win8. They released it too soon, and it is a mess!) that I will be able to upload my pictures again, and sell my newest creations! I am making my first regular bracelet right now-so far I have only worked with Euro: Necklaces, earrings and of course-bracelets, so this is a new project for me. It is turning out beautiful!
OK, I better go finish it before it is over the 7 day limit. The winner has been very patient, even though the original bracelet had broken and I told people not to bid on it-she actually used GIN! So what can I do but honor that. She wants it for her daughter. :)
I do not think any of your pieces are just a bracelet!! They are all works of art....i am hoping to one day own one..but i am new and trying to gather points....i will get there!!! As said before ask whats its worth..and give yourself credit..if you are gonna say bracelet..at least say beautiful bracelet....sorry if i seem rude..you just do not see your own pieces as the rest of us do!! <3
No, godfather, I do not see your comment as rude at all. Once again, it is very flattering.
I am asking for lower as I am still quite new at making these, and I feel if I start lower, I will get more bids, and recognition, and then I can raise the starting bids and the GINS.
And I wonder if any artist really sees their work as others do, as we are up close and personal with it. I am often awed by what they look like in the end, but again, I don't take entire credit for them!
