Description

The listing, 1969 Topps baseball card lot w/ Bill Robinson has ended.

Here's a lot of eight (8) vintage 1969 Topps baseball cards (NOT reprints). These are all in pretty decent condition: no creases I see or other major flaws, though some of the corners/edges aren't perfect, and of course the centering issues most '69 Topps have. Then again, these cards are 44 years old. Neat bit of history.

BILL ROBINSON (OF, Yankees) didn't quite live up to the "next Mickey Mantle" hype, but had some good years and helped the Pirates win the 1979 WS.

RANDY HUNDLEY (C, Cubs) was an All-Star in '69 and won a Gold Glove Award in '67. Known as an iron man behind the plate, he holds the record for most games at catcher in a season (160 in '68).

BILL STONEMAN (P, Expos) was 8th in NL Cy Young voting in 1971, and was an All-Star in 1972. He's the only major leaguer to throw no-hitters in both his first and last complete game.

Yankees Rookie Stars ALAN CLOSTER & JOHN CUMBERLAND. Closter never did much in the majors, but was elected to the Syracuse Baseball Wall of Fame in 2006. Cumberland posted a 15-16 record and a 3.82 ERA for his career.

Giants Rookie Stars CESAR GUTIERREZ & RICH ROBERTSON. GutiƩrrez was the Tigers starting shortstop in 1970 and is best known for setting a ML record for consecutive hits in an extra-inning game (7). Robertson pitched for 6 years, all with San Francisco.

DAVE NICHOLSON (OF, Royals) was a hard swinger who briefly put up decent power numbers, but didn't make contact much, leading AL in strikeouts in 1963.

JOHNNY BRIGGS (OF, Phillies) hit 139 home runs in his 12-year career.

NORM MILLER (OF, Astros) played a decade in the majors, mostly with Houston.
