Description

The listing, Rare Antique Sterling Silver Fork set - Bangkok has ended.

This is an incredible antique sterling silver mini collector fork set handmade in Bangkok. They are very tarnished to where they almost look like brass, so some professional cleaning would be a good idea. They are very unique and elegant and have the artisan stamp on each fork. They all carry a detailed design stamped into the handle of each fork. They are displayed in a compartmentalized blue gift box. Enjoy and happy bidding!.

Baking soda and water would clean them up perfect and not harm the silver at all, Just mix some baking soda and a bit of water make it pastey and rub the silver tarnish right off.

grizly, your magnet may be too weak.Maybe some expert can chime in on the magnet issue, but it is ususally a good test. More so,on old items.

About that whole magnet thing. I have some old 1884 Rogers co. silver plate or what I believe is silver plate forks. A magnet does not stick but I can see where the silver has worn off. Can’t they use other metals that are not magnetic as there base metal?

Sterling Silver tarnishes to almost a gray/black color. The pics look like a brass color so do you think this is just the lighting when you took the pic? just curious. Either way they are a beautiful set.

All old base metals would stick to a magnet. Aluminum may not, I'm not sure, but they didn't use aluminum back then.

How big (or little) are they? Either measure one or post a pic of one next to a coin or pencil or something. Thanks!

good-even if it was silverplate the magnet would attach to the core metal. It is Sterling Silver.
