what size is it? and is it actually glass?

it is 12" long and 9" across. I think its glass, I guess I always just assumed it was, it might be some type of really hard plastic.

i need this! i need something to pick up my faith my little brother (18) passed away 2 years ago next month and i havent been the same since =( ! not to mention i have his portrait along with praying hands and rosary beads with this same exact shaped cross tattooed on my calf! the cross not only matches my tattoo but he had the same one tattooed on his upper back . this would be sooooooo perfect for me !!!!! i NEED this =)
