What is Hospice?

The hospice philosophy maintains end-of-life care should emphasize quality of life. At its core is the belief each individual has the right to die pain-free with dignity, and families and friends should receive the necessary support to allow the individual to do so.

Hospice is about the time between an individual's life-threatening diagnosis and death. The goal is to treat the person, not just the disease. It involves a team approach to care, including expert medical care and pain management with emotional and spiritual support.

Many times individuals donate items to Hospice to be auctioned off to help those who have no insurance, as no one is ever turned away.

Hospice is a wonderful group of caring people, with such big hearts. This ring is a beauty. Wish I had enough points. Fanned & watching!

It is pretty, but we do need to know the size. My mother and father both utilized hospice.

I worked in nursing for 30 yrs I took care of the elderly and I made them a part of my family. I miss working i fell and that ruined my career I miss it everyday. My back is a wreck I have sit with the elderly until they drew their last breath. And then I bawled my eyes out. I lost a dear friend today she was on dialysis for a while then there was nothing more they could do for her so her sister had hospice to come in and take care of her on her last day. They are also there for the family if they need any thing or have any concerns they will try there best to answer them they are a lot like I was when I worked in a nursing home I'd get some in there that was my age and that was depressing, but I always kept a good bed side maaner no matter what I always made the time to talk to them and to make them feel at home. They all had my phone number and I told them that I was leaving gave out hugs to all of them and told each and everyone if they need me just call and I'll be there. I got a few calls and yes I was there to me thats what caring is all about you love one another. I lost 3 family members in 6 months and they was all up walking around you never no whats going to happen so always be kind to one another I going to get this ring because i love nursing and helping people so god bless each and everyone young or old alike.
