these are tokens from the garden state parkway in new jersey ,the parkway was started in 1947 in union county, today the parkway runs from the new york state line in montvale,nj to cape may which is 172.4 miles. these tokens where used to pay tolls for the use of the highway, they could be purchased for $10.00 for a roll of 40 ,then later $10.00 for a roll of 30. these where only available until jan. 1, 2002. and where to be redeemed by jan 1, 2009. there where two different style tokens the first where all brass then they went to the two type metal tokens. there is 5 tokens they are about the size of a quarter , good luck bidding, tracking number with shipping.
