thanks they are really adorable, ive just had them sitting in my china hutch since my grandma gave them to me, they had belonged to my grandpa who passed away a few years ago.

there not typical shot glasses if so, but my grandfather had these for years apon years.

I got mine from my grandfather too! They are wonderful and vintage. I would date them to 1920-30 as that is when my grandfather had them in his bar/restaurant in San Francisco. You are right, they are not your typical shot glasses. I often thought they were made as a promotion by some beer company maybe for people wanting a shot with their beer. Your description is perfect, they are actually mini beer mugs. Very cute.
