The listing, ERGO Baby Carrier (GIN) has ended.

This carrier is like new and in perfect shape. Never used. It was a lovely gift but we ended up using the same carrier we used with my son since we were so used to it. Smoke and pet free home.

This carrier retails at over $100.

I only ship to Listia verified addresses and I do need to ask for some shipping costs to be paid to my paypal account. It will cost more than $9 to ship but I will make up the difference. AND there will be a tracking number provided.

- 400 threads per inch cotton poplin lining and hood
- 100% cotton batting in body of carrier to soften edges
- One inch, high density foam in shoulder straps
- Quarter inch high density neoprene foam in waist belt
- National Molding buckles tested up to 235 pounds
- Waist belt circumference from 25" to 43"
- Fits from 5' to 6.5' body height with adjustable shoulder and chest straps
- Sleeping hood adjusts in length to growth of baby
- Reinforcement stitching used at all fabric intersections
- Interior rip-stop reinforcements at critical intersections

The ERGO Baby Carrier's ergonomic design supports a correct sitting position for the baby's hip, pelvis and spine growth. It disperses most of the baby's weight between the hips and thighs, which helps to eliminate compression of the spine when hanging by the crotch which most other designs require. The ERGO also balances the baby's weight to parents' hips and shoulders, and alleviates physical stress for the parent.

I just talked with the store this ERGO Baby was purchased from and they said there is no way this is a counterfeit. Here is the email:

Hi Mindy,

I'm sorry you're experiencing that frustration! The ERGO is a hawaiin company. Mother Nature's was the first store on the mainland to carry the ERGO. I purchased directly from the owner/creator. Even as their company grew, we never purchased from a distributor or sales rep. I always purchased directly from the company. I can't imagine any way that a counterfeit could have crossed our door. If you purchased it years ago, it could be an older model that consignment stores aren't used to seeing. They went through several versions over the years. Again, as the first store on the mainland, Mother Nature's had the priviledge of watching the company grow and we regularly gave feedback for improvements to the carrier.

The retailer you purchased from is anauthorized retailer. And the critter print was popular back in the day. The only thing you can say is that it was purchased from an authorized retailer. Information regarding the differences between a real or fake carrier are incorrect. We have made many mistakes over the years. And have changed information on the labels according to whatever the certification organizations mandated.
Your carrier is real, it is a genuine ERGObaby carrier.

Very sorry to tell you this but this is most certainly a fake. I purchased what I thought was an authentic ergo a few months ago off craigslist only to find out it was not. I know too much about this sort of thing. Please see link. http://reviews.ebay.com/How-to-Spot-a-Counterfeit-Ergo-Baby-Carrier?ugid=10000000065082150. Everything, from the location of your label, to the fact that there is no actual warning, to the ergo baby label are pointed out in this article as FAKE. It is not a fake. I was with the person who bought it for me at the time of purchase and the retailer is listed on the Ergobaby website as an authorized retailer of their product.

Any news? I'm really hoping it will be up for auction again. I have seen similar ErgoBaby carriers in eBay with the same insect pattern. I'm thinking this is just an older model and people are jumping down your throat for no reason.

It is an older model but I have not heard anything from ERGO Baby yet. I did exhaustive research over the weekend and everything I read is pointing to this being a counterfeit. However, I have MANY friends who also have this carrier and it turns out most of them are considered counterfeit. They say, while they're dissappointed to find this out, they still loved their carrier and some have used them for years and through more than one kid. So, I'm not sure what will happen. I'm thinking I should just donate to some mother who can't afford a good carrier and would be thrilled to have it. It doesn't seem like I will be able to sell it.
