Description

The listing, Java Moss has ended.

This easy aquarium plant will grow in practically any lighted tank, although I would at least give it a compact fluorescent bulb for richer brighter color and dense growth. In very very low light it will be thin and more of an avocado color, but it's still nice looking.
Let it grow freely or train it onto wood, rocks, etc,.. and sculpt it any way you want. Makes a nice carpet or grow it up the back wall.
It's very versatile and fun to work with.
It seems to grow slowly at first, but after 6-8 weeks it will be spreading everywhere and you'll wonder, "When did THAT happen?".
It can be invasive but it's easy to control. Just yank out a few handsful and trim with scissors for a nice groomed look.
It helps keep algae levels down and protects fry from being eaten.
You will get a small standard size clump like you see pet stores selling for about $7.99.
It is PLENTY to get you started, as it will soon double, quadruple, fliptupple, etc,...
Aquariums are harder to photograph clearly than you might think, so yes, I've yoinked photos off the internet. But Java moss is Java moss. That's what it looks like.
Questions & Comments

The algaecide isn't necessarily a good thing, since many people keep marimos in their tanks. I wouldn't risk putting my little ones with a plant that has been dosed.

Like I said before, it was weeks ago, I have changed 100% of the water 3 times, PLUS I removed the moss and rinsed it in fresh water bit by bit twice since then.
There is certainly no need to create a panic. It is perfectly clean and pure. If you want to scare people let's talk about buying plants that have ich, snail eggs and cyanobacteria on them, then having to break your tank down and start all over.

Wow. No capital letters, periods, commas or punctuation of any kind. I see you couldn't even push enough buttons to finish the word "sh". Denise, it looks like you may be having a stroke. If not, don't ever give up on that G.E.D..

I have the interests of my marimos at heart, and I'd rather be safe than sorry when it comes to putting things in my tank. If you think that my mere observation as a concerned and informed buyer is really enough to incite a panic, then that's your perogative.

i don't have an aquarium but do you think this is something that would be okay in a vase or something? or does it need a filter?
Mar 18th, 2013 at 9:14:04 AM PDT by
Original
I doesn't need a filter or a heater. This stuff is hard to kill. Just give it as much light as you can. It's prettier with plenty of light.
So sure, stick it in a vase, fish bowl, glass canister, etc,...
You could even stick a couple cherry shrimp in with it to add interest.

Wow. No apology, respect, proper behavior or decorum of any kind. I see you couldn't even push yourself to make any sort of apology after you rudely judged that poor listian on their typing skills. derfwad, it looks like you may be a *****. If not, well...who are we kidding, you are. Good thing I saw what kind of person you are. I won't be spending any credits on your auctions nor will I give someone my hard earned cash. I'm sure if you treat others like this, your plants aren't that well off.

I'm not really convinced you are informed as a buyer if you think my moss is going to kill your algae, but thank you for alarming everybody.
My algaecide is also fatal to scaleless fish and invertebrates, in case anybody else is silly enough to think there could be a trace left on the plant.
