This Stuff is Free Too:
Description

The listing, Dell Latitude D600 Laptop / Notebook has ended.

Up for auction is a Dell D600 laptop that I got here on Listia last year. I'm offering it back to Listia as I just got a bigger machine a couple of weeks ago, right here on Listia! So, in order to 'keep it in the family', here you go!

The machine is in great working order. Stable and spunky, everything works just fine. It has Windows XP installed, and the install is clean. No dead pixles on the screen, all keys function correctly. Hinges are nice and tight. All ports function, and the DVD Rom drive reads flawlessly.

The ONLY thing that doesn't work as expected is the battery. When I got this machine last year, the battery was a little weak. Now it's weaker still. I've never replaced it as I don't EVER use this laptop on battery power. I've always used it on the power cord in our room, but use the machine every night, along side of my wife while she's on her laptop. You can get a new battery for less than $20.00 BIN all over eBay, and even sometimes less than $10.00 on auction. Takes 10 seconds to change, no screwdriver required.

This laptop comes with the power cord/charger.

Any questions are welcome, and I'll gladly provide any additional pictures requested. Thanks for looking!

I am computer illiterate so will ask...is it good for fast games? I play hidden objects (am hooked) and get a ton of emails & do save lots of pics...is this good for this stuff? Also, can I copy my pics & documents onto cd's/dvd's? Can my printer be hooked up to this? Fanning & watching!!

Depends what you mean by 'fast games". I'll tell you it's not a gamer machine, in the sense of Crysis and the like, but hidden object games is exactly what I used it for. My wife and I play side by side the same game, so that we can help each other. We've played half a hundred of these together, usually one complete game each night, two nights at most. I've only run into a couple of H.O. games that had trouble with this machine, but they were even slow on my wife's 1501, go I can't really fault the laptop for that.

Yes, email and pics, all good. The machine is NOT a slouch, it's just not a gamer for the bigger stuff.

The ROM drive is a CD-RW/DVD-ROM. This means that it'll read CDs and DVDs, but will only write CDs. So yes, you can save your pictures.

Printing is also good, but you'll have to install the appropriate drivers for your printer. You should already have drivers for your printer, but if not, they can always be downloaded from the printer manufacturer's website.

Hope this answers your questions. Thanks for looking!

F&W! Where in SC are you? I go back and forth between Laurinburg, NC, and Charleston, SC, on a regular basis and would like to pick it up, if possible. The PO can be rough!

We're down towards Aiken, the other side of the state. You'd have to do a mighty wide swing to the west to get to us. Still, if you don't mind the drive, you're welcome to stop by if you win.

We pack very well though. We run a small ceramics art studio, and ship fragile items every day, so we should be able to get this to you without any mishaps. We'll ship the safest way possible, depending on the winner's location.

Thanks for looking!

Per the description above:
Wireless 802.11b/g
Wireless Controller Dell Wireless 1350

So, yes it does. I also included a picture of the laptop connected to the Internet. All you have to do is turn the laptop on, and when the controller senses your wireless LAN, it'll ask you if you want to connect to it. Push the yes button. You'll only have to do that once, the first time, and it'll save the new information from there on out. Easy as pie!

Thanks for asking. Good luck!
