Description

The listing, 1940s MARCH of DIMES Fight Birth Defects POLIO Member Contributor Donor lapel pocket tab pin button has ended.

Offered is an approximately 1 1/8" lithographed Original JOIN THE MARCH OF DIMES FIGHT-BIRTH DEFECTS member contributor donor campaign lapel or fold over pocket or coat tab, pin, pinback or button.

This was likely a 1940s tab as it came with others from that period. Some slight litho scratches as it came in contact with other tabs during production and distribution. Front and reverse are clean and bright as shown.

As a collector of political election campaign items, there is an interesting fact about the March of DImes and its connection to President FDR Franklin Delano ROOSEVELT. FDR had polio and during his second term as President of the United States began and founded the March of Dimes in January, 1938 to combat and fight polio, especially among children and infants.
