1999 was the 200th anniversary of Abraham Lincoln's birth and the 100th anniversary of the Lincoln cent. In 1959, the 150th anniversary of his birth and the 50th anniversary of the Lincoln cent, the mint changed from the wheat ears reverse to the Lincoln memorial reverse. In keeping with that tradition, the reverse was again changed in 2009, but this time with a twist. Instead of going directly to the new reverse design, the shield, there were four reverse designs released in 2009, with each being minted for only three months.

The mint also offered to collectors rolls from each mint in special wrappers and boxed and sealed by the mint sets of each of these commemorative designs. These have been hot collector items since they were released a they will never be produced again. The sets that I am offering were purchased directly from the mint by me so they have not been shipped around the country by me.

The set being offered here is the LP2 or Formative years set. This will be a true auction starting at 0, so if you are the only bidder you will get it at that. Shipping will be your choice of small flat rate box at $5.80 (actual cost) or whatever first class postage comes to depending on your zone after I get it packaged up. It will also be available for local pickup if you live near enough.
