Arugula, also called "Roquette" is easy to grows abundant and easily. It has been cultivated since Roman times and is considered an aphrodisiac.
The leaves are rich in vitamin C and iron.
It’s a pungent green that can be used as a flavor accent or eaten all by itself as delicious salad green that stands alone very nicely with a light lemon vinaigrette dressing.
To my taste, it is a little like a mild, gentle horseradish flavor with a hint of roasted peanut.
Tolerates dry, poor soils, yet for optimum harvest, plant in loose, well-composted soil. Prefers mildly acidic pH.
Keep moist while the plant is young. Once established it does well without much water.
The flavor gets stronger as weather warms. Bolts easy in hot climates, so best to plant in partial shade to extend harvest season.
Arugula is a cool season crop and thrives in cold weather.
Thanks for checking out my listing! Happy Growing :)
