This is a NEW golden tone duck pin with a 'tack back'. It is textured and has diamond cut metal to make it extra shiny. The duck does not have markings on it but the clip does which says "Made in USA". I do not have a metal tester but I have a digital metal detector which finds it to be "$0.05& gold" and the back clip is "$0.05". When I researched online, I found that 5cents is actually made of 75% copper and 25% nickel. My best guess is that it is plated or filled in gold, though with no markings I do not know for sure. I have found a near identical one on a that is pewter and plated in gold & vintage made in 1988. So again, as far as metal goes I am not 100% sure and my best guess is still speculation.
