Description

The listing, ~*~* EDGINGS--FOR ALL PURPOSES*~*~* BOOKLET~*~*CIRCA 1952~*~* has ended.

This is a beautiful crochet booklet circa 1952 that originally sold for TEN CENTS! It is in pretty good shape and reads "J & P COATS--CLARK'S EDGINGS BOOK NO. 288-- EDGINGS FOR ALL PURPOSES" on it's cover. It has some beautiful color pix inside this booklet (and some black and white too) of 15 pages (both sides). There is also a small sticker with the price of $1.00 affixed to the front cover and a date of 9/9/52 in very small print in the upper left hand corner. The patterns are for several different edgings. For example, there are 6 different "Crochet Pillow Case Edgings", a "Hairpin Lace Apron Edging", a "Braid Edging on Runner", and 3 "Irish Crochet Edgings". Also, there are 9 different "Knitted Edgings", 2 "Tatted Handkerchief Edgings", and there are 7 other different "Tattered Edgings" with a few of them having "different motifs". In addition there is a crochet "Baby Slip Edging", and a crochet "Baby Dress Edging, and 6 other types of edgings which makes a total of 10 edgings for baby clothes. Then we have the "Rick-Rack Edgings", and that includes 2 "Guest Towel Edgings", "Rick-Rack edging on Bath Towel", "Blue Rick-Rack Edging", 'White and Yellow Rick-Rack Edging, and "Yellow Rick-Rack Edging", and "Rick-Rack Edging" too. Last but not least are patterns for "Church Laces" which are 3 different "Alb Lace's", and 2 different "Altar Lace's". I'd just like to say here that my mother was proficient in crochet and I never really appreciated it until now! I remember all her doilies and of course the trims on the pillowcases. This was not her booklet but honestly now I see this is truly an art form. Happy bidding on this lovely booklet.
