I agree with konakenny7. I've broken way too many electronics because I tried to open them! Good luck on your auction and the winner fixing this nice phone!

I have had pretty good success with repairing my electronics, computers, etc. myself....just have to have a delicate hand and MUCH patience, also a bit of technical inclination in my opinion. Thank you! I appreciate all the comments. I love hearing from other people about my auctions :)

Honestly it just depends on the person, but I would deem it challenging for anyone not familiar with micro-electronic repair.

The ribbon cables and connector sockets are delicate components which can easily be mangled, leaving you with a shiny pile of parts. Also, the back cover being made of glass, it can be cracked during the removal, which would tack on an extra $50 in parts cost.

I am very glad that you shared that information. It helps to understand whats involved with this. This is a great phone...I love mine! Only my opinion, but paying a professional about $170 to get it fixed would be worth it considering the part priced on Ebay is low end $85 alone. My sincere thanks to you for shedding some much needed light :)

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion for sure. Some might not think that it's too much and that it would be worth it, especially when getting it for free. Thanks, just don't bid if you don't like it :)

I fanned you, also if you can do me a favor try to spread the word around that I'm trying to get 5000 fans and watches badge if you do this for me I would appreciate it a lot and in return I'll try to get you fans also. :)

I run my own repair shop. Fixing isn't too hard, just time intensive for the disassembly process. I would charge about $150-170 for parts + labor, so would think most shops around would be fairly similar.

Thank you so much for sharing that information!!! I truly appreciate the input! Do you think it would be to hard for an average semi-technically inclined person to do themselves?

I cannot add a GIN because there are already bids placed. So sorry :(

I did find a place online that will do a complete repair including parts AND labor for $179.95. It's called Doctor Quick Fix...not sure how reputable they are as I have never used them but that should be a ballpark figure of about how much a company would charge to do it.
