I am new to this so forgive me for asking, then why does it cost $5 for 1500 credits if the basic value is 1000 for $1? I'm just learning so that I can better understand how to value things on here:)

Because if you buy your credits, it's gonna be higher. If you put items up for auction, it's an easier and better way to get credits.
