The listing, Set of 2 Vintage Tatting Shuttles + GIN BONUS!!! has ended.

These shuttles are just gorgeous!!!!
They are vintage and the Abalone Shell one is VERY unique!!!
I know nothing about tatting shuttles, but I"ll do my best to describe them. :)
Top one: Abalone shell exterior. The bottom of it has turned black - but I don't know if that's how it originally was or if it has turned colors over time. It's definitely not marker or something...you can still see some of the regular color abalone on the bottom...kinda strange....the inside has a long piece in the center. Measures approx. 2½" x ¾" x ½" (deep)

Bottom one: Made of stainless steel and has the stainless "bobbin" still in the center with the original thread! The thread is a beige/taupe/off-white color. The shuttle is engraved and reads, "BOYE" Improved" then below that, it says, "More thread, less knots" and in the center it says, "Pat. April 17, '23" Measures approx. 3" x ¾" x 3/8" (deep)

The metal shuttle is fairly inexpensive and quite popular. The abalone shell one is just gorgeous. I would love to tat with it. Tatting is fairly easy to learn and you should be able to find a local guild who will be more than eager to teach you.

Yea, I looked up the steel one and it's pretty standard, but I thought the abalone one was so freaking beautiful!!! I really hope someone that tats wins these! I rarely have time for my current hobbies, unfortunately, because of school, but someday I SHALL learn! lol

I used to tat a bit but never got too good at it-now my eyes won't let me.While the stainless shuttle may be more common it's still very nice because of the engraved info on it.The Abalone one is just amazing and I hope whoever wins it can make that beauty "picot away" Glad to see tatting coming back a bit-for too long it seemed it was lost
