550lbs. is a Static rating for military spec paracord. Unless your dropping over 350lbs from an elevated position,so as to pick up speed and or exceeded perpetual motion with multiple knots in the rope it will hold 550lbs.THIS CORD IS MILITARY SPEC, MADE IN THE USA FOR THE US MILITARY!!
