More than likely it is gold plated, which technically still makes it sterling silver because unfortunately, a lot of jewelers do not place a high value on plated jewelry. However, since it is still gold plated, you might want to note that in your description to keep down ignorant comments. Either way hon, this ring is beautiful and if it were my size I would be all over it like gold plating on silver!! IDK...lol
