This gold and silver was used 75+ years ago by a painter and frame-maker, the artist died in WWII. I feel that much of this gold and silver is from the turn of the century, but I can only date it pre-1943.
This is a cut from one of his Silver books.
Modern leaf is machine manufactured as where this silver/gold leaf and silver/gold leaf for thousands of years before it was pounded out by skilled gold-beaters, a process lost with today's modern industrialism.
This particular piece "is" marked Made in JAPAN, with an estimated 25 sheets(appears to be all sheets), you can see It's a large cut, next to a quarter in the picture you can see the size.
This is alot of silver so you can think larger surface area.
you can use this in art work, wood work, metal body work Ideals are limitless, you could always layer something in pure gold or silver(Gild), It's a great keepsake, conversation piece.
If it wasn't for the great people here on listia i would keep this stuff but i like knowing it will be used, appreciated and cherished, much like it was a few generations ago.
