That is exactly what upset me. When people pay shipping for items they're not willing to spend a high amount of credits and you more than doubled it halfway through the auction. You probably would have gotten that amount from me anyway for your other items I'm watching, but now I will be restricted on how I can spend them. I also don't know your logic on $1 = 1000 credits. That hasn't been my experience at all. That is why Listia goes on a credit not $ system.

Why did you up the price from 999 to 2500? Especially when I'm already paying shipping.

I'm sorry Emily, I just don't feel that I'm commanding enough for some items. And, as you know I always combine shipping and will give you a lower flat rate. I forgot that you were watching this. My apology. Tamara

I see where you're coming from, but most people who charge shipping on Listia don't start there auctions that high. People aren't usually willing to give up a lot of their credits AND pay shipping, I know Im not. I also know you're going to continue doing it the way you're doing it, but just letting you know what I have experienced/felt/noticed during my time here.

I've sold 2 really nice picture frames for 499 which equates out to $.50. I have made many new friends on Listia and we all agree if we are literally giving nice items away why should we have to pay for shipping as well? Shouldn't Listia be free for the seller, too? If an item is worth the outlay of credits; I don't mind paying for shipping. I have a friend on here who laid out $358. One month in free shipping and now she charges for shipping. We sellers are not wealthy just because we have nicer items to give away. This takes any fun out of Listia for us.

I hope you aren't getting defensive. I am a seller myself and if you were to look at my history you would see I have sold at least 100 things if not more, 95% of which has had free shipping. As a seller you aren't getting a lesser deal by offering free shipping because most of us get items from others listed as free shipping. I will admit that I have spent enough money to make my husband cringe and hate this website, but I also know that I have gotten probably double the amount of things I've sold and most of those were free shipping. So I guess I just disagree with your logic because for me personally at least I know I'm getting what I put in just in a different way.

And I don't know who told you that a certain number of credits equals a certain number of dollars because that's simply not true. We aren't supposed to compare credits to money, that's the whole point of credits. Everyone thinks differently when it comes to the worth of things you know what I mean? Someone might pay 500 credits for someone while someone else would be willing to give up 3000 because its not money so it's easier to give away.
I hope I don't come off as rude, I really don't intend that, you just won my stamp auction and we emailed back a couple times and you are nice, I was just checking out your auctions and saw a couple comments that I wanted to weigh in on.

Defensive? I'm exasperated.

I cannot afford to pay for shipping right now. I was down with West Nile Virus (I live in the DFW area of TX) and am still recovering. Tonight will be the 1st business function I will attend in what seems like forever.

I am self employed. I cannot afford to rack up $100's in shipping each month and I've sold some very nice items for very little credits. Thus, Listia has become more stressful for me than fun. That is against the premise of Listia. One friend spend $358. on shipping in one month and now is charging for shipping. Was she wrong to do so, no?

No, you're not rude at all. You have your way of doing business, thinking, etc. on here and I have my way as well. I've sold some nice items on here; however they have gone for very low. It's disappointing that I don't see multiple bids if I list for lower; thus I go for those on here who want what I have to offer and don't mind helping me by paying for shipping.

The hammering is getting old and I just may not stick around. I have so much more to concentrate on not to mention rescue that I've been in for over half of my life and I incur all expenses on. Advocacy work i.e. testifying before legislative committees on issues important to all Americans. I care and I put myself out there for myself and others daily as I will speak up.

I am an easy to get along with person. I care very much about Emily as she has shared many personal stories about her life with me. I care about her more than Listia. If Listia is gong to drive a wedge between us I'd chose her friendship over Listia!!
