Questions & Comments
One last question and tip....between where the top (headstock) of the bass is and where the white straight piece (nut) that the strings rest on is before the darker wood with the metal frets (fretboard) are , is there a hole there with a metal piece inside? If so, the neck has a metal (truss) rod inside the neck and even if the neck is slightly bowed or out of line/adjustment, the neck can be easily fixed and the intonation can be set when reassembled with an allen wrench by inserting it in the hole where the truss rod is. This should only be done by someone that knows what they are doing. Again, this will save you money on shipping by removing the neck and packaging in a smaller box to ship.
have a lot of guitars but we've had this one for a while but we don't play bass we just play regular guitars that's why im getting rid of it, I just think that a good guitar/bass should go to a good person but I will take your advice and ship it the way you are saying thank you soo much for your help :)
Just a tip(s)....be very careful if you decide to remove the stickers as you could also peel off some of the finish. Personally, if it were mine, I would not peel off the stickers and let the winning bidder remove them if they want to. Also, decent strings for basses are VERY expensive ($30-$60 a set). I agree with tootall1121 about removing the neck to ship but if you do, you will have to wrap the neck and body up good in bubble wrap, remove the strings, put the screws and strings in a ziploc bag...etc...to guarantee a safe shipment. Probably looking at $10-$20 in packaging to ship. Sorry for the length of this but just trying to help. Good Luck!
ya I went ahead and took the stickers off but it worked out great I was extremely careful and it looks so awesome right now...check out the new pics :) im pretty happy with it and my self I spent a lot of time on it and done a good job :)
*Facepalm* They completely ripped off the Precision Bass from Fender. Except much much much much much much much worse... Not that it's bad, just, wow, they just knocked a tiny bit off of the headstock.
LOL At first I was like 'Wtf, you're selling a perfectly good Fender Precision bass on listia that has nothing wrong with it beyond a missing G string?!', then I saw 'EXCEL' and realized that it wasn't Fender xD
ya Fender xD would be nice but ya your right its and EXCEL but its a really good base it looks almost brand new and it plays great, I love this base but I play regular guitar not base :) but I still think it deserves a good home
Another heads-up...the weight of the bass is 10 lbs. With packaging, it should not be over 15 lbs. Any bidders interested in shipping can go to USPS.com to get a shipping estimate...shipping from Elwood, IN, 46036.
I cant I don't have anyway to get paypal right now ill have it in the future but for right now ill have to do concealed cash, I don't know if there's a way that you could put a tracking thing on the package. but im willing to work out anything with whoever wins I just want everyone to get the stuff they win and to feel safe about the shipping.
hey iplayrook i just figured out what you were saying about the shipping label...lol... sorry im just a little slow today, but yes you can send me a shipping label if you win
You're welcome. You can save a little bit on shipping by sending it with the neck off. a side view of the neck, so people know if it's straight is always good. From what I know about this brand, they're real good guitars if properly setup. Like many of these lower end guitars, they make them okay, but don't set them up very well.
Some careful examination of the one photo shows this is an Excel Bass guitar. So you'll know, the best sale price on it I could find new is 180 dollars. normally, it's about 230. So pay the shipping, it's worth it. Shipping should run anywhere from 32 dollars to 49 dollars in the continental US, depending on where you live, by parcel select from the post office. If you use Fed Ex, UPS, or one of the others, it will get out of line fast, unless the lister has a corporate account with one of them.
thank you so much for your outlook on it i definitely wont use fed ex or ups and as far as the shipping i really don't have the money to pay it but mabey if i could get so many credits i could cuz i don't buy credits and i don't have that many i just started doing this a couple days ago so im still learning how it works but im going to post more pics today and more info about everything
Need more information and more pictures of it , front , back full length and the head stock front and back so bidders can determine what it is. Thanks ...
no it doesn't have a case with it but when i go to ship it i will make sure it is very secure i wouldn't let anything happen to someone else's stuff u have my word
IM not shut cuz I just want to charge just enough to ship it to ya I don't want to over charge I wanna be fair but it's pretty heavy I will take it up to my post office tomorrow and see and then I will post it
