Questions & Comments
i was just gonna say that it would be cute to make into a swim coverup, if you knew how to work with the material. GL!
sewing is a useful hobby, i'm sure it was fun making OOAK creations. i see things in stores and the prices are crazy for the swim coverups, at the high end specialty stores in the malls here, they can be up to $159- that is out of the question (not in my budget).
that is way to high, here in Texas it is like that. I will not pay that at all. call me cheap, but I have to be and I am not going to pay that. I love to sew but with 3 grand kids it is hard to sew and keep up with them. I take care of 2 - 2 years and a 4 year old 5 days a week. so I took up Jewelry making. what State do you live in? Theresa
no, you are not cheap, you are being practical- there is nothing wrong with that. sometimes, there is so much pressure to just go along with the crowd, keep up with the joneses, but we all know that there is a much larger middle class and us working people with kids we have strict budgets. i always set limits to my shopping. i like jewelry making too, but have always wanted to go back to sewing, and creating OOAK pieces, plus i'm short, and that way, it is custom for my size. ready- made store-bought maxis are usually 54 inches long. so, you are busy with grandchildren, that time spent with them is precious. lots of bonding time. i loved spending time with my little one for two months before going back to work. but we need my income, so family members on both sides watch him 5 days a week. i live in nevada. popular tourist destination, las vegas. i guess all popular spots have "tourist traps" where people spend ridiculous amounts of money on things.
theresa, you sound like a really nice lady, and you did what you had to, to earn a living. my mom was a single mom (she was an excellent provider, a strong woman), so i have lots of admiration for hard-working moms, like you. you were lucky to have a husband who was hands-on with your kids, too. i recently became a mom, and it was a tough adjustment in the beginning but i am getting used to a hectic schedule, once i went back to work full-time. we are lucky to have family members helping us with babysitting. my husband and i tried to conceive for 5 long years, so i am always thankful for this chance at having our family be blessed with this little miracle. that is the bigger picture, so i am living with less sleep, along the way. i also enjoy "meeting" nice listians on here. if they are not pleasant, i block them. good luck with the rest of your auctions. and take care.
You to are lucky, God sent you and your husband a child. You are blessed. Thank you. I had my son after his Dad got killed by a drunk driver, I had a lot of help from my Dad and Mom. then meet my husband and had a Daughter. we got married Sept. 11,1981. so I was blessed to for years and now 4 Grand kids to keep me going. you have a great day.
