The listing, Reusable Cloth Feminine Pad has ended.

FREE SHIPPING USA & CANADA

This is for one new never worn reusable cloth feminine pad aka mama cloth of the winners choice from the pictured fabric. Approximately measures 8in x 6in

The brown & pink is the back, the flowers/butterflies is the fabric the front. This is backed with hidden PUL so is waterproof. Has snaps to snap in place and use just like a disposable feminine hygiene pad, the only difference is you wash it instead- save money & reduce waste!

I haven't listed any of these for months so I have no idea how these will do, if it does well I'll list the other two and you can try for the whole set.

This pad is best for light days or to be used as a pantyliner. On the ones I auctioned previously I included a lay in soaker aka doubler made from organic cloth to be used with these on heavier flow days. I don't have any made up right now to include, however if the bids get up there I'll make one to send along with this.

If the bids really get up there I'll make a miniature wet bag to send along as well. ( wetbags are waterproof bags to store used mama cloths, cloth wipes, cloth diapers and the like in )

This could end up being a great little starter set, and of course is a wonderful addition to an existing stash.

I'll update in the replies what credit limits will include what when I figure that out =)

WHY REUSABLE INSTEAD OF DISPOSABLE:
I had terrible cramps, heavy bleeding and bad hormone/mood swings that come along with my monthly gift from mother nature. Upon a suggestion from a friend and my own research leaving me with reason to believe the unregulated chemicals in disposable feminine hygiene might at least have something to do with it I switched to reusable, chemical free products. I found that my previously 8-12 day periods lasted only 3 or 4, cramping disapeered altogether and mood swings were significantly lowered.

A good article on it- http://womenhealth4u.wordpress.com/2008/11/18/sanitary-pads-%E2%80%93-a-silent-health-threat/

WHAT IS PUL
basically polyurethane laminate is a type of fabric that is laminated to be waterproof. There's a good explainatino of what PUL is here- http://www.celticclothswholesale.com/pages/PULFabric.htm

PUL, otherwise known as polyurethane laminated fabric, is a lot more technical than just a plastic backing on fabric. The original application is the medical field, and it is still used for this purpose. Like cloth diapers, it is used to replace disposable products with reusable. It provides the waterproof barrier needed in the medical field that can survive multiple institutional washings. The laminate can also be autoclaved, which is a very high heat steam sterilization process, to make it safe for reuse even after it comes into contact with blood or other bodily fluids.

The polyurethane laminate can be customized by the manufacturer and comes in different thicknesses. For cloth diapers, 1 mil or 2 mil is generally preferred. This allows for a good stretch, complete waterproofing, and is still comfortable enough to wear next to the skin. There are other options for waterproof fabric, but PUL is so durable and reliably waterproof it has become a favorite for cloth diapers. It has been truly kid tested!

I just throw mine in with my kiddos diapers, wash like normal and dry like normal. I'm not sure if these would stain or not- probably if let sit for more then a day. All the ones I use are a different fabric against the skin (velour) even if they do stain who is gonna see them but you =)

my normal wash routine is in a front loader set on cold rinse, warm wash, warm rinse, extra warm rinse. I have SUPER HORRIBLE hard water so to prevent build up I add about 2 tablespoons of washing soda per load to the detergent dispenser and fill up the bleach dispenser with hydrogen peroxide bleach alternative. That's what I meant when I said normal load- in case anyone wanted to know. I never have staining and haven't had to strip diapers even with rediculously hard water since december of 08 when I started using washing soda =)

What a great idea!!! My daughter has got to be close to needing something like this, she has been raised chemical free as much as possible, little meat, no milk, no shots, no drugs, this will continue that trend. Thanks for such a good offer; o )
