While not bearing the usual Nazi hallmark--the swastika--this postcard is nonetheless a piece of Germany's Third Reich history. Its' subject is "The Anschluss", or "Union", between Germany and Austria in 1938. The beautiful signed artwork signifies Germany bringing Austria into her protective arms...notice the dead serpentine beast which is an allusion of the rest of Europe.Google or Wikipedia "Anschluss 1938" and you can read the entire story. Postally unused, this is a rare card--especially in this condition.
