The listing, Live aloe vera succulent plant 7-inch starter for pot or outdoors has ended.
A great, EASY starter with roots for a potted houseplant or outside (not for areas with frost or freeze!)
The plant you see in the pic is the one you'll get. It's a short auction so that this little guy can find a home sooner than later, though immediate planting isn't necessary.
They do best (prettiest green color) on the north side of the house. This one saw some part sun where it was planted, but will grow a richer, greener color with more shade. Porches and part shade areas work great, too.
Don't overwater it! Give it some potting soil or put it in the ground outside when you get it, give it a good water, then leave it alone for at least a week. (The one at my office gets watered about three times a year and looks great!) It may look a bit "sad" in color when it's adjusting to its new home, but it will green up later provided it likes the lighting/shade you give it.
Once matured, it will propagate itself with little "babies" near the base of the plant that you can leave or transplant.
Mature outdoor plants grow beautiful orange plumes on a stalk that attract hummingbirds.
This will be sent in an envelope padded well with bubble wrap, etc. If the tips of any leaves break off, it does not affect the growth of the main plant. If ugly ends develop, the tips can always be clipped.
This variety grows long, thin leaves in the shade, with thick browner ones when grown in the sun. I do not find the sides to be particularly sharp.
