what does 925 mean?' That mean that 92 1/2% of the metal alloy is pure silver and the other 7 1/2% of the metal alloy. Real silver in its pure form is so soft that . When real silver is stamped, it is stamped 925, .925, Sterling Silver or Ster. 999/.999 is 999/1000 silver with .001 alloy. SSP= sterling silver pendant
