The listing, 30+ bell pepper seeds viability tested (see photos) :) has ended.

I'm sorry but I can't remember the name of these bell peppers or what color they are when ripe. I believe they are red but they could be yellow or orange. As you see I test germinated a few of the seeds in a wet paper towel and all 6 sprouted in 14 days. I will divide them into a few auctions but the photo is of the actual seeds you'll be getting. 30 seeds should be enough to allow for a decent number of plants even if you have a few plants or seeds fail to thrive.
I don't offer tracking numbers or Gen or any of that fancy stuff. I have a hard enough time getting photos off of my camera and onto listia (lol at self). I'll put them in a greeting card wrapped in a paper towel to help protect them. Bell pepper seeds are sturdy and flat so they should make it to you safely. Happy bidding and gardening :)

Yes and no, it was bought from a local farmers market type co-op near my home. It's not a true store. It was ripe and as you can see I tested the seeds to make sure they were viable seeds. If you have a whole foods store or farmers market you can go buy some ripe peppers and test the seed to grow out for more peppers. Make sure it is not a highbred pepper. Check the little sticky label and if it has 5 numbers is was grown organically but it could be a hybrid. If you're friendly with your produce guy/gal as them if they know what peppers are heirloom and then save those seeds. Find the ripest peppers that you can when doing this. The seeds should be a light yellow color and shaped sort of like a flying saucer (raised in the middle). You can even buy purple and brown peppers at some farmers markets.
Oh, and pepper plants really enjoy bottom heat when you're starting them. They sell heating pads for made for plant flats. I've never owned on myself. You can also put them on top of your frig or any appliance that is warm. They won't mind being in the dark until they sprout and then they don't need the heat any way so move them into the light.
I'm just returning to gardening so I've saved some of these seeds for myself. I know a couple that has a food pantry to help young mothers in need and they are going to let me grow fresh produce at the new center they are starting so I'm open to doing seed exchanges out side of listia if you have any seeds to trade. I live in a condo so I've been haunting the seed listings myself, lol. I just figured I might as well share the wealth of pepper seeds I've been hoarding (they're pretty fresh I just tested the 6 seeds before I put up the auction before this one) while I wait to get my finger nails dirty again.

am I allowed to share links on listia? (I don't want to break any rules) You can google marando farms in Fort Lauderdale, Florida to see the place I got the pepper from. I work at a local thrift shop very close to there on Thursdays and they have great fresh heirloom produce that's pesticide free. A couple of pot belly pigs too, lol! I love going there but I'd rather grow my own stuff when I can.
