Description

The listing, Mucsadine Seeds (Can be winter planted!) has ended.

These seeds can be scarified or stratified (planted in the winter months for spring germination). These seeds will produce fruit in three years and are beautiful trees. These seeds are fresh from the muscadines and Scuppernogs that I picked yesterday.

Muscadines have loads antioxidants and more fiber than oats! I have also read that there may be cardiovascular benefits to eating muscadines.

The going cost for these (at my market) is $3.00-5.00 per lbs. If you are unfamiliar with this fruit, they are HUGE grape-like fruits. People choose to eat them in different ways, but if you win this auction, I will include the best (in my opinion) recipe that I made up and have never seen on the web.

They are sweet? How big does the tree get? What kind of weather does it like?

Very sweet and the tree is about the size of an apple tree when full grown.

I did a quick Google search and I think you would have trouble up there as they grow in the southeastern states.

There are sever sites that have different ideas on how to plant these, but the one I am using is this one: http://www.gardenguides.com/75080-plant-muscadine-seeds.html

I am actually trying two different ways to see which one takes better so that it grows like the ones that I picked these from!
