This is 2.5" wide tape, looks like a ribbon, but its not. Help me to give a proper title. I have no idea what is it used for

From the pictures you have posted, I think it's a type of seam binding, or blanket binding. I don't know for sure, but maybe that will help.

I think it mite be like a seam tape, it helps to keep seams together until you can get to the machine.

I agree with Amy and grammynan. It says seamaid tape on the label. I am also a seamstress for many yrs. and this is what I would use for baby blanket.
