Bear: The protector and symbolizes physical strength and leadership as well as the wild, untamable side of humanity.
Bear Paw: Good omen; symbol of direction and power.

The Meaning of Feathers plays an important role in the belief system of Native American Indians. Their beliefs are based on Animism which embodies the spiritual idea that all natural things within the universe, including birds, have souls or spirits. Animists believe that souls or spirits exist, not only in humans, but also in birds, their feathers and in animals, plants, rocks and natural phenomena. The doctrine of animism is that everything is alive, and possesses an inherent virtue, power and wisdom.
The generalised meaning of feathers signified honor & connected the owner with the Creator and the bird the feathers came from. Native Indian warriors were awarded a feather when they took coup or were particularly brave in battle. When a feather falls to earth, the Native Americans believe it carries all of the energy of its former attachment on a bird to a living being. Feathers are perceived as gifts from the sky, the sea and the trees. Feathers arrive unexpectedly, but not without purpose.

The Waning Moon
Waning Moon means the moon is decreasing in size, moving from the Full Moon towards the New Moon. This is a time for spells that banish, release, reverse. This is a time to break bad habits or bad addictions, to end bad relationships. This is a time of deep intuition and a time for divination.
At this time the moon represents the Goddess in her Crone Aspect, give praise to Hecate, Morrigan or one of the other Crone Goddesses. The period of the waning moon lasts about 14 days.

Coyote is playful and fun loving and is usually found to the South on the Medicine Wheel. A Navajo friend says he watched a Coyote suddenly jump up in the air for no apparent purpose except for the fun of it and then continue on the previous path across the desert. Coyote reminds us to bring the happy childlike quality into our adult lives.

I have heard a story of a young shaman apprentice on a quest in the desert where he could find no water. The young apprentice saw Coyote and followed him. The Coyote went to a certain place under some cactus and dug a hole. When underground water filled the hole, small animals came to drink and became Coyotes dinner. If Coyote medicine is in your life at this time, take a good look at what you are doing and with whom. Someone may be trying to trick you or get you to do something you would not ordinarily do. Coyote is also clever, but often looks for shortcuts that get him into trouble. Are you fooling yourself? Coyote often tricks the learner into learning a lesson. The antics of Coyote are entertaining. The magic of Coyote is like an illusionist who is skilled in directing your attention to one place while the magic feat is going on just beyond your awareness. Then the learning becomes unavoidably apparent.
