Petco has a $5 off coupon on any bag of Hill’s Ideal Balance dog or cat food, expires 6/15/13. If you take this coupon to PetSmart, where the Petco coupons display on the receipts as "Competitor Coupon", you can have a moneymaker when you combine this with the rebate. You can use the Petco free can coupons there too. You will need to make enough of a purchase where it isn’t obvious that the $5 coupon was for the Ideal Balance or the rebate will be rejected. PetSmart doesn't care, but Hill's SD does. DO NOT use your PetPerk rewards on this purchase as that will deduct $2 off the cost of the Ideal Balance. This will cause your rebate to be rejected. Pay the full price of $12.99 and grab a few other items you would ordinarily purchase. You’ll be getting $5 worth of free stuff technically. You may use coupons on all of your other items, but not PetPerk rewards. Use the $5 coupon and get $12.99 from the rebate for a savings of $17.99. I used one of my IAMS coupons and bought some Temptations and a few other things to help bury the coupon on my receipt. Use it or don’t, either way you get a free bag of chow.

While the coupon says it’s good for any A&H product, I only wanted the cat litter. I used coupons at Kroger, Kmart, Walmart, and Petco. Each time, I purchased the largest available box of litter, average $18. A manager’s approval was required, because of the high value of the coupon, at all but Petco. Other than that, no one batted an eye. I asked some folks I’m friendly with, at Petco and Kroger, if they had had any alerts etc. regarding the coupon and they said they weren’t aware of any.

Additionally, I sold two of these on eBay. I informed the winners of what I’d heard, as I am informing you. Both left positive feedback for me and they haven’t emailed otherwise, so I feel safe in saying they also had no problems.

Please don’t leave any negative comments or start a debate or inquisition. If you don’t feel comfortable with bidding, don’t bid. My feedback speaks for itself and I have yet to see anyone, other than me, that will guarantee their coupons or accept returns.
