The listing, Antique Blue Bird Confectionery Candy Tin has ended.

Take a look at this quaint and gorgeous antique candy tin, made by Harry Vincent Limited, in Hunnington, Worcestershire England. Harry started his confectionery in 1898, and became successful enough to open his own factory in 1927. They discontinued making the tins many many years ago, but did a special edition commemorative tin in 1995. I don't know of any others since. It's metal, but it is not what you'd call "rugged". I don't imagine very many of this style has survived all these years. Measuring at the feet it's 6 3/4" across. From corner to corner it's almost 6 1/4", just over 4" deep, and 4" tall not counting the bail. It's in overall nice shape, with a bit of finish woe here and there. Could use a good cleaning, but I don't see well enough to attempt it. There's some tarnish on interior, but I imagine it would look fine after cleaning. I've used it for several years as a stamp, paper clip and whatever catch all, but it's time to let someone else enjoy it a few years. : -)

I've never shipped there, but someone had stated that you can't get tracking once it reaches the border.?? Why thank you again TinaE. I've been wanting that "The Husband" book. Most of the time tho, they aren't free shipping like yours was, or has so much with it that I don't want. I love Dean Koontz! I also like the old style adventure novels about things that took place in earlier centuries. I do enjoy the little "tid-bits" you can pick up on in those. History in story-form is much easier to read than dry facts found in history books. lol.

Hello again! I don't see any Dean Koontz books in my collection right now, unfortunately. (I'm with you on the history books...lol!) The books that I do currently have are by James Patterson, Linda Miller, Dan Brown, Stieg Larson, etc... and I have some very old Perry Mason and Agatha Christie books. All (or at least most) of these books were won on here and I am now ready to pass them on....I just haven't gotten around to listing them yet! (Too busy winning auctions for myself I guess...lol!!!) Anyway, I will notify you when I start listing more books so you can check them out! Thanks again for your interest! It looks like this auction of yours is doing well! I guess that I will have to leave this one for the true antique collectors though as it has exceded the amount that I can afford to bid! Wow. I appreciate you taking the time to type all that! I used to have a few friends that I did "box swaps" with. We all liked similar varieties, and every now and then we'd get together and exchange our books by the box. We saved sooo much money on our reading! We only had to buy every few months, but we'd sell the ones we'd read, to pay for them. Wish you lived close enough that we could do that. : -).
