Zircon (/ˈzɜrkən/; including hyacinth or yellow zircon) is a mineral belonging to the group of nesosilicates. Its chemical name is zirconium silicate and its corresponding chemical formula is ZrSiO4. A common empirical formula showing some of the range of substitution in zircon is (Zr1–y, REEy)(SiO4)1–x(OH)4x–y. Zircon forms in silicate melts with large proportions of high field strength incompatible elements. For example, hafnium is almost always present in quantities ranging from 1 to 4%. The crystal structure of zircon is tetragonal crystal system. The natural color of zircon varies between colorless, yellow-golden, red, brown, blue, and green. Colorless specimens that show gem quality are a popular substitute for diamond and are also known as "Matura diamond".
The name derives either from the Syriac word ܙܐܪܓܥܢܐ zargono,[5] from the Arabic word zarqun (زرقون), meaning vermilion, or from the Persian zargun (زرگون), meaning golden-colored.[6] These words are corrupted into "jargoon", a term applied to light-colored zircons. The English word "zircon" is derived from "Zirkon," which is the German adaptation of these words.[7] Red zircon is called "hyacinth", from the flower hyacinthus, whose name is of Ancient Greek origin.

By saying, "ALL MARKED 925 STERLING SILVER RINGS TARNISHED! HEAVY PLATED OVER BRASS!!" you mean they are silver plated even though they are marked 925?
Real sterling is very fast to clean if you put it in an aluminum pan or glass pan lined in aluminum foil, pour baking soda over it, and then pour boiling water over that. On the places that don't touch the aluminum, touch it with aluminum foil as soon as you pour the boiling water over it. You will instantly see it turn silver. For the really badly tarnished ones, you may have to repeat the process. Leaving it in there awhile will not make it work better. As soon as the water starts to cool any, it will stop working. I use to have a store and that's how I cleaned mine. I went through all kinds of cleaners and this worked the fastest and best because you don't get cleaner stuck in grooves.

Yes I believe they are plated not solid silver. When I bought them the person I bought them from told me they were solid silver so I ended up buying 1500 rings. They are all marked 925. Before I sold them my husband couldn't believe the price that I got them for so he took one and cut it with wire cutters and found brass under the silver. I have more that are not in this lot that I will try your cleaning tip on thank you so much

That's the problem with buying jewelry from other countries is they stamp everything. It's suppost to be against the law here, but they don't do anything about it { I'm sure you didn't know it came from another country}. I've seen things stamped that aren't real and things that are real that aren't stamped. The cleaning method won't help unless a piece of jewelry is sterling. You know the cleaning trays you buy off t.v. that is a flat sheet of metal? That's all it is, aluminum. I bought one and then figured out this cleaning process. Works the same with that or aluminum foil, or an aluminum pan. Magic before your eyes!

Thank you so much <3 Yeah as soon as my husband cut one of them and we found that they weren't real solid silver I was so upset, because there was no way that I could leave any kind of feedback for the order, because I had already done so. I called and had the seller shut down. It is such a shame that people do these kinds of things. I am just so happy that we caught this when we did,

Good for you! I found a website today that sold jewelry and they had a section telling you how to tell if your jewelry was real silver. They said in it that if it was stamped you could be sure it was. I emailed them and told them they need to take that off because it's not true. I saw on ebay that you could buy little silver pieces to put on your jewelry you make, that is stamped 'made in Italy'. What a joke that anyone can put that on their jewelry!
