This is the biggest penny I've ever seen! It's known as an 'old penny', which was replaced by the smaller 1p coin in 1971. These smaller coins were still mostly copper until the 1990s, when steel coins replaced them (because the value of copper keeps rising). The old pennies are now collector coins. A 1963 is well worth keeping.
