This is a golden mesh type fabric with metal hardware. I am sure it was intended as a cigarette case. It holds a pack of the biggest size (100's?) cigarettes. I am sure this has been around awhile. The lining is in good condition, perhaps could use some cleaning. No damage anywhere on this (vintage?) case.
