do you have to use a different needle? i have not worked with this type of fabric, so i am asking. or maybe a different stitch?

no needle change is necessary but be sure your length and tension are correct.
How much does it weigh? will try to get an estimate what shipping will be. this looks like nice fabric :)

by weight is 3 lbs. 16 oz. in a mailing box. Medium Flat Rate Boxes is 11.35. just to let you know that to. It is real nice fabric. Thank you for stopping in.
