this jewelry box is tarnashing, im not sure if its real silver or not, it does have the word GODINGER and something is circled maybe a c? cant tell, other than that theres no other markings on it, the earings are vintage, they do not have any kind of markings on them, they kinda look like the work of avons sahra covington, but not sure on that, these are sold AS IS!!!!!!!! IVE ALSO TOOK PICS OF MEASUREMENTS SO PLEASE SEE ALL PICS...ive added a pic of the name thats on the bottom of the jew box, i thought that i had already uploaded one but my mistake, please see the last pic for the marking, ty

I can't believe it's finally here. 6 more hours, or the longest auction in history, or so it seems. It's been a great auction, but it just seems like it's lasted forever. I'm curious about the lady that says her Mom had one in the 50's. I'd be curious to know who made it? Godinger was founded in '72 I think. Anyway the best I remember from when we were trying to find out more about the box. What was that about a month ago ;)

My mother had one exactly like this one. She got it for her 21st birthday which was 2 months before I was born and I was born in the very early 50's All my mom ever kept in it was a lock of baby hair from each of us kids, it sat on her dresser for years I use to call it my moms little silver coffin thingy.F,W and will be bidding

Nice box! Godinger was popular, I remember seeing those types of boxes when I was a teenager. Regarding cleaning, you could try a little toothpaste. I use it all the time to polish my own jewelry, so I don't see any reason why you couldn't try it on this box. It certainly won't hurt it. My costume as well as my expensive jewelry shines up rather nicely. Watching, nice piece!

Have you tried to clean it with anything, or a silver or jewelry cleaner. Don't get me wrong I'm not saving it's dirty, I was basically asking for shinning it up reasons, and to know what if anything I should use. Could you show the bottom of the outside of the box?

well i dont have anything to clean it with and i dont want to use a household product on it cause im scared ill mess it up, but it is tarnishing and it will need to be cleaned...as you can see in the pics its not in the best shape but im sure it can be cleaned up, and i can take a pic of the bottom if you want, the pic with the name is the bottom of the box but i will take another one cause there is some spots on the bottom of it to that pple need to know about, i forgot to put that in the discription so i will do it now.. tysm for reminding me, lol. ;p

I found this same one on another site for sale and it was selling for 50.00, so this is a great deal for trade credits only. and its a beautiful piece.
Very pretty Jewelry Box! We are offering this Vintage Jewelry Box which is silver plated and lined with the brightest of red! This piece measures 8" long, 4" wide and stands 3" tall. Great condition! Manufactured by Godinger in the 70's+. this is what was written about it. it was exact piece. Ill be watching this
