Description

The listing, serial killer John Wayne Gacy necklace has ended.

"soon" means I have no description up yet. I've been doing serial killer jewelry for years. I'm getting my Masters in Criminal psychology. I am unsure what the "threat" is about.

It is free Pogo jewelry, not meant to actually be worn, but used as a keepsake or display and comes with a biography on the horrific crimes of the killer written by me during the course of my classes. The biography includes a condensed version of Gacy's life, victims, crimes and the discoveries that brought him to justice.

....and THAT, for those up at all hours while I posted base auctions from my phone.... was what was meant by soon.... as in "description coming soon".

John Wayne Gacy, Jr. (March 17, 1942 – May 10, 1994) was an American serial killer and rapist, also known as the Killer Clown, who was convicted of the sexual assault and murder of a minimum of 33 teenage boys and young men in a series of killings committed between 1972 and 1978 in Chicago, Illinois.

Gacy became known as the "Killer Clown" due to his charitable services at fundraising events, parades and children's parties where he would dress as "Pogo the Clown", a character he devised himself.

Please allow me to extend my apologies to those who did not understand my auction before I put up the description because of my failing to do so. I had only the word "soon" which in retrospect seemed menacing. It merely meant the description was coming soon like all the missing descriptions from last night I still need to do. I'd not thought how it might seem and that was a huge misjudgment on my part. Please accept my apologies for any distress or upset. This was not my intention.

I'm in school for criminal psych. These were a group of necklaces that were requested and done as a project. They come with booklets on the killers notorious crimes, etc. I did have my best friend in the 90's become victim of the still never caught I-45 killer. Don't jump to conclusions until you know the entire story which I'd not gotten around to. I don't jump to conclusions when others have equally poor taste in other areas. "soon" meant I was not don't with the description and I am still not.... I put this up from my phone. So you can go report me again and let Listia decide if artistic expression and eduction should also be banned,

Has anyone heard of freedom of expression? if you don't like an auction; don't bid AND don't leave snippy comments - grow up - no one has the right to judge another member - if you are truly offended then you can block the user. I for 1 commend the work ofthis seller and her efforts to help victims.

Thank you. That's kind. With all of the serial killer, art, websites, fan pages, books, collectibles, bobbleheads and so forth out there with all proceeds going to the makers and without mention of the victims... and with the art of the serial killers themselves making them money before that law was passed where they had to give up a lot of the money.... it thoroughly shocks me that I, a genuinely kind person who gives to charity utilizes Listia as just a tiny place to throw a few bucks to charity, is the focal pint to these people. The hatefulness in my e-mail, as I stated previously, is on mark with the hatefulness of the men they so despise.

Unless you want people to jump to conclusion you should make sure your description and title is complete before listing. I am not the only one here at Listia that has been offended by this in fact it was brought to my attention by many others. I was just one of the few that would say something about it. It's a travesty that Serial Killers get any sort of attention and I have know people in my life that were hurt or killed and it hit me like an arrow going through my heart. I commend you for your criminal psych class and that you are going to school to learn more about what causes this behavior in people but you have to realize that the things that you left out in this auction is the reason that people do not know the whole story. I would suggest in the future you complete the title and description before you post an auction like this unless you want people to say things about it or report you.

I realize this and you are correct in this instance. I always just list a bunch before I fall asleep and then comp back and do descriptions when I have computer access. And, I do agree, for a while to "glamourize" and then "anti-glamourize", I sould packages of serial killer related things that were really morbid..... my main point being was the biography and trying to more humanize the victims to the buyers. Documentaries fail at this. Everyone is the vic, or victim number 4. They are selcome "Julie Spark, age 17, daughter of Patricia and Bill, high school volleyball team" etc.... I lived in Texas whenthe I-45 killer picked up momentum once again. No one humanized the victims. I think if we make cartoons out of the already infamous killers and give faces to those murdered, we stand a chance of not being so desensitized. Please understand... everyone knows who they are.... can you name a victim offhand? I'd like to take baby step into changing this. Even if the initial push is putting the killer in the spotlight.

Oh and what would a cop do? I also collect oddities. My human teeth and animal skulls are all given to me. All of my animal bones etc are given from hunters who eat the animal and end up throwing some of the bones away or animals that are already dead. I do have preserved maggot specimens and bite mark impressions. Those are from labs I have done myself. So many focus on the depravity of killers. Serial killers help criminal profilers, forensic investigators, and psychologists. If not for certain killers, other murderers would never be caught. In my field I must see the victim as evidence. But when in private I mourn. If you let death and misery go to your head you will loose sanity. I see the victims as real people. I prefer to see them as they were before the horror. I see killers as monsters but also means to further understand the human psyche. The stigma attached to just a simple picture of a killer is amazing. Certain people fear what they do not nor do not want to understand. While others enjoy their comfy office job, I am enjoying collecting evidence and recording the stages of decomposition. The forensic field is nothing like popular CSI shows. There are real victims, real blood, real deaths, and real murderers. Not many people can handle my job when they see past the curtain of Hollywood glamor. But if not for us then there would be no justice. The victims would always be remembered as victims and not real people who laughed and loved. Once the press coverage goes away, the families of the victims do not stop grieving. People forget that.

Lovely! I am going to college to be a Forensic Investigator. If you use GIN do you pay shipping?
Apr 25th, 2013 at 3:07:49 PM PDT by
Original
No, simply because the shipping is not really shipping. You actually get free shipping. The 5 dollars is a donation to a victim's charity and I matching your 5 dollars to give them 10.00. Therefore, it would negate everything my serial killer auctions stand for if I were to give "free shipping". I'm very sorry. All other jewelry but charity based, I do give free shipping with GIN.

Kitzen I wanted to say that i applaud you for this auction. The crazies who see the name of a serial killer jump to conclusions and think "how horrible! how sick" when they do not realize this is not just serial killer fan art. I have tons of books about various serial killers. Why? Not due to my support of them but I am getting a career in Forensics. It is refreshing to look at how different and truly unique your actions are. *jumps off of soap box*

I have TONs of books on serial killrs, spree killers, mass murders, etc as well. It is my area of study. Some people must think that serial killers just arrest themselves and no one has to literally obsess over them and get inside their heads and live there, sometimes for years to bring them to justice. Our fields are rather thankless jobs. We -are- the weirdos with all the memorabilia.... and with it comes more than who the killers were but why others are fascinated by them. I, however, am so tired of the victims just being "vics" and never remembered. I LOVE that with the anger I create from these people I'm doing exactly what I mean to do.... the remember the victims and their families. Now if these rabid humans could just remember one name of one victim and go crazy on me about them.... that would even be better. Anyway. You, my dear, are awesome and I'm thrilled you get it. Oh... also, even when super strapped for cash i still give my minimum donations to the charities I am passionate about. I doubt the people griping at me send anything to victims charity. Jerks. Let me tell you, Kute is awesome though. We got off on the wrong foot but she "gets it". She came off wrong and apologized. We've actually gotten close. The ones that were really insanely bad all ended up in my e-mail. I have no idea why they didn't end up posted on the auctions... one threatened me with a cop. LOL Really? Is that where I counter with "my uncle is a DA so nanny nanny boo boo?" LOL
