I added additional information about the battery and the internet connection above in updates. Oh, and I'm also I'm going to include it's Belkin 7 port powered HUB.. The laptop only has one usb port, but with the Belkin powered hub addition peripherals may be added without loss of communications with the addition of equipment.

I don't quite know what you mean. But the system has a power adapter that come with the unit. It is operational. The computer does work.

As long as it works when connected to an adaptor I do not care about the battery...as you said you can find them elsewhere.

No, the bottom shows wear but overall in nice condition. I carried it in its case for years. Then I stored it in a box until I ran across Listia, I thought someone would put back into service. It's could be used in the home connected to a modem by 10/100 or to a wifi router with the ALPHA adapter. I used it for awhile to connect to Netflix without any problems. I'll be firing it up later on to take a pic with it connected to the internet via wifi for you all.

I really don't know about the os I'll look into. As far as being in working condition, the first line of the description indicates " perfect working condition". I't has been treated well and I no longer use it, but I do power it up from time to time to check its performance, not bad just a little slow. After all it's an older model. But nice condition.
