sorry, i am not yet familiar with everything yet. i did not read that in the rules. i do know that i can charge a handling and packaging fee. i thought that i would just be up front with everyone and not charge those fees. paypal fees are very small but, when i am giving valuable items away for next to nothing, it should not cost me out of pocket for shipping. i do not have to use paypal, i only use it for your convenience. you have the option not to pay that way but, if you choose to, you will have to pay the fees for your transaction. if not then it will have to go through the long process of the payment through the mail with all the waiting to get your items. and also, if you bid enough credits, you will pay nothing for shipping.

Shipping and Handling

Please make sure to specify shipping costs and any related service charges in your listings. It is against our rules to provide unclear or misleading shipping information or to charge unreasonable fees for shipping and related services. This also applies to total shipping charges when providing combined shipping across multiple listings. The maximum shipping price for your listing must be displayed within your listing shipping details. Further discounts from this price may be outlined in the listing description.

If you accept PayPal for shipping charges, you cannot require that users pay using the "personal" or "gift" payment option. This is because those options do not allow buyers to request refunds from PayPal if anything happens.

You may only charge for:

Actual shipping cost (exact amount, including sales tax or govt. fees charged by the shipping company)
Handling cost (packaging, materials, insurance, etc.)
Delivery confirmation and extra services (tracking, signature, etc.)

you may charge more than the listed amount if your exact shipping cost is actually higher and can be verified via weight/dimensions etc.

We encourage users to offer Free Shipping whenever possible or simply to charge exact shipping costs, but we do understand that there may be packaging costs, insurance etc. involved so we know that flat rate shipping is often easier for everyone involved.

PLEASE SHOW ME WHAT I AM MISSING.

pay pal is how i receive payments from people who want their items fast. i can charge you a handling fee if you would rather. that is usually $2.00. the paypal fees are usually .40 t0 .50 cents depending on how heavy something is. i was giving you a break. you dont have to pay the paypal fees, all you have to do when you win is pay shipping plus $2.00 handling fee(this includes a box, tape, packing material and my time to run around, drive to the post office and mail it), make sure you go buy a money order (I DON'T TAKE CHECKS)and send it to me through the regular mail. after i get your payment, i will take it to my bank, deposit it and after it clears then i will send you your item. ALL THIS FOR AN ITEM YOU ARE GETTING PRACTICALLY FREE. Are you beginning to understand yet?

when you first got your pay pal account you agreed with their terms regardless why you got it that is your fee to them for using the account as a seller,It has nothing to do with shipping charges. I am really hoping someone outbids me on the auction that I am bidding on of yours because you are right Listia is too much fun to put up with rude people like.........................

hay, there is no reason to be like that. do you expect anyone to just simply give you something for almost nothing and then also pay to ship it to you too. i know what agreement paypal and i have. i have no problem giving my possessions to you but it will not cost me money to send it to you too. i am not in a business, i am a regular person just like you. as a matter of fact i am disabled and can not work and i have many nice things to just give away but please don't ask me to spend my money doing it. if you truly don't want this item, i will find a way to let you off the hook. i am sorry if i offended you.
