Questions & Comments
Watching, for the time being. Very nice display, the bracelet is certainly eye-catching, and I am familiar with paper-beads. But what, please, is a potato bead? I've never heard of them, and I won't go into what my imagination is doing about them.
Lol!!!!! :-) I asked the same thing when I first heard about them!!!! A potato bead is just a slice of white potato cut in a square or whatever basic shape you please, but a bit larger than you want the actual bead to turn out. I dry the potato out until it is rock hard. I have a special technique that I use to keep my beads from growing a fur coat lol!! And getting spoiled. And my bead also goes rock hard over night, as opposed to the 12 days or so that it takes other people. After that, I paint it, glaze it and voila!!!!! A beautiful potato bead!!!! :-)
Oh and by the way Terry. Try Google Images to see some photos of potato beads that came out beautifully!!!! I hope this information I posted helps with the yuck factor. My beads are created in such a way that they are not in jeopardy of getting to that point, they are done with the hardening process virtually overnight. So thanks again for watching and great question! :-)
