Southern collard greens,soak for 30 min. in water. clean,check the back and front of the leaves, take off the hard stems. pick out all of what you don't want to cook, rinse 3 or 4 times really well. put in a pot.sautee onions tl golden brown and put in a pot with your choice of meats, ham, smoked neck bones, ham hocks. or smoked turnkey. cover with water add the spices you might like. be careful with the salt the smoked meats are salty. add a 1/4 tsp of chili pepper. 1/4 cup of chicken bouillion low sodium/ taste for saltiness. add spices you desire. simmer down to a broth. I eat it over long grain white rice with cornbread. Yum! let me know when dinner is ready
