Description

The listing, Garmin Geko 201 has ended.

Garmin geko 201 pocket size GPS that is waterproof. Perfect for hiking, marking way points, noting hunting spots, track speed, save routes, etc. Retails new for @ $120 and used for @ $70.

This is a device that was only used twice for a camping trip out west. It is completely functional and no defects. I included multiple pictures of it on and in different modes including one showing the working back light and one showing it does power on and off.

I found this link a good resource if you want more details - http://gpsinformation.net/geko-201.html

This auction is just for the device ( I can't find the box ) sorry and the users manual is free online here - https://images-na.ssl-images-amazon.com/images/G/01/00/00/05/09/93/97/509939750.pdf

Any questions please ask. I work hard to make sure everything I post here on Listia is represented 100% as to what I am auctioning.
Free shipping to Listia verified addresses and sent out with tracking via USPS.

its on foot gps not a road trip -- this is for walking hicking and being on foot to lead u back home to ya camp --its like a backtrack or where it is u want to walk to -- its not a highway gps garman for a plane or vehicle

I did some research for you since I never used it for that and here is what I came up with - Yes you can - but you will need to buy the cable to connect the garmin to your type of computer once you download the geocaching software. The software is free so at least that is good :) Here is the link - just copy and paste in the browser bar (not the search bar, it won't come up that way) hope this helps :) http://www.easygps.com/gps-receivers/Garmin-Geko-201.asp

I do a lot of coon hunting in the woods late at night, I have a Garmin gps. And they work well. I was so deep in, would't have made it out one night, if i did't have it. And the back light help a lot too. I'll be watching.

Thanks for watching jamesrjackson- That's pretty scary- glad you got out ok. I never used it for hunting but I can think of a bunch of times my Dad should of had one for hunting boar, especially when going on trips to places he hasn't been. Kind of makes you respect the old school trackers :) Now a friend of mine said he used one like this for geocaching. I don't know much about it but apparently you use a gps for treasure hunting. A different kind of hunting then you and I are apparently familiar with but whatever floats your boat :) Good luck with your coon hunting - I bet you've seen some really crazy but awesome stuff late at night out there.

Does this function as a road trip gps? I could not tell by pics.

I guess you could, but I wouldn't depend on it to really tell you where to go, as it does not have actual roads marked in it. It really is meant for more "off-road"- ( good for hiking, trails, open fields, canoeing, kayaking, and where ever your more outdoor adventures take you ) It's better used for marking where you are starting and getting you back so you do not have to find yourself lost in the middle of nowhere or more for marking a spot that you have found as a hidden gem. We used it to get back to our campsite and to track how far we have traveled. Hope that helps.

Thank you for the offer, but I am going to have to decline, especially since shipping and tracking is included on my end. I'm usually pretty open to GINs but I really need to get some credits too as I have to rebuild my entire fishing set up. I'm hoping this auction does well so I can upgrade form a stick, a string and one hook - haha - Thank you for understanding. :)
