Let me get this straight. This gadget will help me put a bracelet on by myself? Does it work on other types of clasps?

Yes, it works to enable you to put on your bracelets without getting your dog to help you ;-) It's really made for the claw clasp only...I've never tried it on another type. With the claw it's easy as pie.
